William Murphy Walker was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 17, 1941 the third child to Haskel Walker Sr and Virginia Walker. Murphy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church. While attending Pleasant Green, Murphy served in many different ministries Deacon, choir member, Sunday School Teacher, Midweek Prayer Service Leader, Bible Study and Layman Ministry. Murphy was also a member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Murphy was a very faithful servant. Murphy was united in matrimony to Dorothy Mae Jacobs on June 18, 1963. To this union 3 children were born Galen, Beth Ann and Tina. Murphy was employed at Methodist Hospital for a short period of time and then was employed at Ideal Cement and Stone for over 30 years as a machine operator. Murphy never met a stranger. He was always quick to make friends and leave a positive impact. Murphy was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Mae Walker, father Haskel Walker Sr, mother Virginia Jesse Mozee Walker, brother Wayne Maurice , and sisters Katherine Foreman and Lillian Odessa Thomas. Murphy's memories will be cherished by his son Galen Omaha, Nebraska, daughters Beth Ann of Chicago, IL and Tina of Omaha, Nebraska, brother Haskel Walker Jr, 3 sisters and brother-in-law, JoAnn Walker and Asenath Walker both of Omaha, Nebraska and Betty Livingston of Houston, TX. 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends. Visitation Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Ave. Funeral Service 10:00 AM Friday at Pleasant Green Baptist Church, 5555 Larimore Ave. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
