Omaha – Lt. Col. William J. Reh, Jr. of Omaha passed away on 3/9/17. Bill, the son of William J. Reh and Irene Greene, was born in Kingston, PA on 6/27/51. After graduating from high school, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam. After his discharge from the Army, he attended Wilkes College graduating in 1976 and receiving a commission as a 2nd Lt. in the Air Force. He served as an intelligence officer with tours in the US, Germany, and Korea retiring from SAC HQ at Offutt AFB on 7/31/97. After his retirement, Bill worked for a short time as a defense contractor and then as a Department of the Air Force civilian at SAC HQ and US Strategic Command, retiring on 3/1/17, having served his country for over 45 years.
Bill was an avid shooter, participating in the NRA sponsored events each year at Camp Perry, Ohio as well as other local events. He was an active Mason and Shriner, a member of the G. W. Lininger Lodge #268, AF & AM, Omaha Valley Scottish Rite, and the Tangier Shrine.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Reh and his son Will, beloved pets Kristan, Scooby, Buddy and Skippy. Visitation will be held at the Roeder Mortuary 2727 N 108th Street Omaha, NE. on March 17
th
from 5 PM until 7 PM with a Masonic service at 7 PM. The funeral will be held on Saturday March 18
th
at 1 PM at the mortuary. Bill is to be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorials to thelittlesistersofthepoor.org.
