William R. Clayton

Omaha - Bill Clayton went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday October 16, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was 76. He is survived by his wife, Jean; their four children Richard Clayton, Mara Kully, Alex and wife Lauren Hart, and Lindsey and husband Jacob Brooker; their 10 grandchildren, Mira Clayton, Jasmin Clayton, Grace Macpherson, Noa Clayton, Thomas Hart, James Hart, Cleo Clayton, Liam Brooker, Josie Brooker and Finn Brooker; and his sister Eva and husband Lee Munsell and Myra and husband Jimmy Zorman.

Bill was born in Greenville, Texas and grew up in San Diego. He attended Eugene Field Elementary, Hale and Einstein Junior Highs and Madison High Schools. He was a graduate of San Diego State College and Webster University

He retired from the United States Air Force in 1998. 

In recent years Bill has lived in San Diego CA, Kihei HI, Dallas TX and finally Omaha NE.

Many will remember that from an early age Bill was kind, gregarious and a friend to all. But most of all he liked to talk story.
