Many years ago a dear friend was asked what he might want on his gravestone.
He thought for a moment and then answered: QUIETLY SIGNIFICANT
I found that to be a profound answer.
And that is how I would describe my own mother . . . Who moved on to her Eternal Change Of Address on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the age of 97 years & 5 months.
Vernelle L. Wells was born August 26, 1926.
She is survived by her 3 children: Mark Wells [& Luann], Barbara Wells Binns and Bob Wells [& Annette], Bo Wells — Her one & only grandchild and Sonia Decker — Her one & only niece.
She was preceded in death by: Her husband — Paul Wells, Her parents — Carl & Gladys Lindevall and Her sister — Gwen Decker
Vernelle was on Palliative Hospice Care for the past year. On January 7, 2024 she was placed on End-Of-Life Hospice Care. [Oddly enough, January 7 would have been our Dad's 100th birthday]. All of us family members continually let her know it was OK to let go. We assured her we were all OK and that she was loved and would be missed, and it was OK to let go. But . . . Like a TIMEX watch . . . She just kept on ticking.
She finally passed peacefully around 2:22 PM on January 22, 2024. We are relieved that she is finally out of pain and is now truly HOME. As one of Bob’s friends said: She’s surrounded by great neighbors and has an excellent LandLord ☺️
We are extremely grateful to her Bonus Daughter, Luann, who diligently cared for Mom’s every need for many years!
Mom . . . We have 100% assurance we WILL see you again!
In the meantime . . . Thanks for watching over us from Heaven above.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
