Vera Flowers was born on June 17, 1943 in Holly Grove, Arkansas, to James and Willie B. Morrow. She was the first out of ten children. She confessed to Christ at an early age.
She entered into Holy Matrimony with Clarence Flowers Sr. in Holly Grove, and they were wed for 55 years. The family relocated to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked and retired after 32 years of service from Lozier’s.
Vera was a providing mother, devoted wife, proud grandmother & great-grandmother, and good-natured mother figure to many others. She loved Nebraska Furniture Mart, Joe Tess, Comedies, Gospel and spending time with her loved ones. Some of her most memorable moments happened during her travels to spend time with family. Her presence was a beacon of light that could brighten any dark day. Her wisdom not only touched her family, but also extended to those around her community. She was known as a selfless gem that put others before herself.
She departed her life at her home on April 14, 2021. Vera Flowers is preceded in death by her parents James and Willie B. Morrow; husband Clarence Flowers, Sr., and sibling Robert Morrow. She was followed in death by sibling Lee Morrow on April 18, 2021.
Vera leaves behind to continue her legacy, children Theodis Flowers, Clarence Flowers Jr., Tonia Flowers, Leodis Flowers; grandchildren Justin Nilges, Aris Flowers, Alisa Flowers, Jasmyn Flowers & Jordan Flowers; siblings Jacqueline Goldwire , Linda McDonald , Rugenia Morrow, Beatrice Morrow, Dorothy Morrow, Sherman Morrow & Doris Morrow; sisters-in-love Emma Jean Jackson, Earnestine Grant, Susie Sutton & Mary Grant , and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly.
