Toddy Ann Manson

Toddy passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Monday, July 17 due to advanced complications of dementia at the age of 83. Born and raised in Omaha, NE, she graduated from North High School and attended NE Methodist College of nursing. She worked as a nurse for several years before transitioning into an administrative role. Eventually she earned her master’s degree in nursing admiration from Saint Francis College in Joliet, IL. After dedicating decades of service to Methodist Hospital, Toddy retired with immense respect within the nursing community.

Toddy was married to her late husband, Cary Manson for 55 years. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Both had servant hearts and were active in various causes and always the first to volunteer to help at their church, or with family and friends.

Toddy and Cary played significant roles in Tangier Shrine and were responsible for bringing the Arbor Shrine ladies and men into the Auxiliary which had a profound impact on donations to the Minneapolis clinic, significantly improving its support. Toddy was involved in the Owaissa Chapter #269 and served as worthy matron twice.  She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Sat-ra Temple #59, and the Social Order of the Beauceant Omaha Assembly #91 and numerous other related organizations.

Toddy was a Deacon and Steven Minister for Covenant Presbyterian Church and very active in her bible study group. Faith was an ever-present source of strength in her life and in death.

After Cary passed in 2015, Toddy continued to enjoy spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She took pleasure in tending to her yard and cherished movie nights with her friends. As the matriarch of her family, Toddy’s presence will be deeply missed everyday but especially during every holiday tradition she helped create.

Survived by her caring daughters, Tammy DuBay (husband, Terry Ullsperger); and Jennifer White (husband, Justin White); and beloved grandchildren, Cameron DuBay, Audrey DuBay, Abigail White & Porter White; sister Nancy Cushion (husband, Gene Cushion); and sister-in-law, Mary Alice Hodgson.

Proceeded in death by her husband, Cary Manson; sister, Barbara Heaton; brother, Fred Hodgson; brother-in-law, Richard Heaton and her parents Mary Todd Bailey Hodgson and Richard Hodgson.
