Timothy A. Miers

The family requests casual attire for the service.

Tim was a lover of life.  He never passed up an opportunity to spend time with friends, family or travel.

Growing up he and his extended family often enjoyed time at his parent's cabin on the Big Blue River.  They fished, played horseshoes and spent many hours talking and laughing around the fire pit listening to Merle Haggard and old school country music.  So many years and great memories from their time at the cabin.

He loved going on fishing trips.  Ice fishing with family and his annual fishing trip with the Tekamah group.  He started pheasant hunting with some of his buddies a several years ago.  He enjoyed the days in the fields with his friends and his dog Riley.  These days were often followed by a trip to Jerome's "Back Alley Tavern"!!  So many great memories for the group from those days!!!  He loved golfing with his large group of friends, his golf league and often traveling with his buddies for even more golf.  He would tell you that the golf course was his office so he was always working.

He was a huge fan and supporter of Nebraska Wrestling.  He had served as the president of the booster club.  Along with attending their home matches, he loved to travel and support the wrestlers. He attended the conference tournaments, the NCAA tournament and many others that current and former wrestlers were participating in.  Tim traveled to the two Olympics games to watch and support Jordan Burroughs as he competed.  He enjoyed his friendships with coaches, wrestlers, fellow NE fans and so many others he met as he traveled supporting NE Wrestling.

Tim was very proud of his career in insurance.  He started a little later in life but he worked and built up an amazing book of business. He also bought into ownership of his company.

Everyone that knew Tim knows how much he loved to stir up a little trouble and give people a hard time.  He was pretty passionate about it.  This could be one of the things people loved most about him and he was loved by so many.

Tim always said he was going to live his life and enjoy it not waiting for retirement.  He encouraged everyone to do the same.  He lived his life with no regrets.

Tim was born in Seward Nebraska to Norman and Joan (Varner) Miers on March 25,1967. He has three brothers Jeff, Gary and Greg, nephew Justin (Nicole) Miers and niece Cassandra Nuttleman.  He married Lisa Fischer on August 8,1998 (Joan finally got a girl).  Tim had many treasured aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tim's family would like to thank all of Tim's amazing friends.  He has been showered with love, prayers and constant support.  He was always positive, never gave up and never stopped fighting!
