Theresa Marie Musich, 71, of Gretna, NE passed away peacefully at home on August 5th, 2025. She was born on November 12th, 1953, in Omaha, NE. The third of 10 children born to Paul and Marilyn (Miller) McDermott. Theresa has been greeted in Heaven by her loving son, Justin Paul Jirkovsky, doting parents, and all the loved ones who have awaited her arrival.

Theresa adored seven grandchildren; Alyssa (Trey) Wojtalewicz, Alex Ryan, Alaina (Jordan) Rodriguez, Alden Ryan, Mackenzie Carr, Baileigh Bedell, Ryleigh Jirkovsky, and a treasured great grand-mother to Jack, Henry, and Nellie Mae. Also survived and greatly missed by siblings Paula Wright, Jeff (Lisa) McDermott, Mike (Deb) McDermott, Denise (Dave) Albin, Colleen (John) Powers, Cyndi (Jim) Clifford, Pat McDermott, Angie (Joe) Carnazzo, Joel (Cathy) McDermott, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends; In-Laws Bill Musich (Deceased), Mary Jane Robertson (Deceased), Staci (Robert) Snukis, Robbi Ann (Joe) Mullins, Kate (Jim-Deceased) Musich, Duane (Linda) Musich, Margaret (Chuck) Nelsen, and Mark Musich.
Theresa frequently spoke about her K-8th grade years attending St Bernard’s Catholic School and then graduating from Benson High School in 1972. As a young adult, her time was well spent playing softball, reading, tending to younger siblings, building life-long friendships, and cruising in her mustang (she LOVED that car). Working with a family friend at Ledo’s Gems gave Theresa an extensive creative opportunity. She built upon those creative expressions through sewing, gardening and a variety of home projects. Theresa’s work ethic was proven strong throughout her lifetime. With a bit of spitfire as needed, she sure bounced back from obstacles as necessary. Patience and attention to detail were highlighted while working as a clerk at Douglas County Bank, Springfield State Bank and perfectly finding her niche for over thirty years as a Unit Secretary with CHI Hospitals in Nebraska and Missouri. Nearly two decades were spent in Springfield, NE raising her young family. The love, kindness, friendships, support and memories created during this time are immeasurable. Eventually re-marrying and investing 10 years improving a 40 acre property in rural Granby, MO. Returning to Nebraska in 2005 to spend the remainder of her years closer to family. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Theresa will always be remembered with a beautiful smile and her love to laugh.
