Tanya D. Starks

Tanya D. Starks was born on March 26th 1953 to Mary Louanna Starks( Elmer Glenn Starks)and Harold Joseph Senior. Whom all proceed her in death. Tanya knew the Lord at a young age.

She was raised in South Omaha where she attended Indian Hill Elementary and went to Tech High from 7th thru 12th grade.

Sometime after graduation she enlisted in the Air Force.

Tanya began creating her own family when she had her first and only son Damon Starks Sr. She later had her first daughter LaKyshia Starks. Tanya moved to Minneapolis MN in 1979. This is where she had her last daughter Mayta Starks. Tanya was the life of the party; she loved to cook for her family, she loved listening to music, going to concerts, and seeing the male strippers.(Speaking of strippers she had her favorite one named Suave and she had her voice mail state: If you're not Suave I don’t want to talk.)

Tanya had many trials and tribulations in her life but she got through them all with her family and friend. In 2008 Tanya turned to the Mormon Religion where she was baptised in 2010 and followed their word. She introduced some of her family to her religion and they studied with her sometimes.

Tanya had her first stroke in 1993 which was a TIA(Mini Stroke) The stroke that she had in 1998 left her
paralyzed and that’s when the health issues began. Tanya lived 28 years with health issues. She gained her wings on October 30th2025.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory;

Her God siblings: Calandra Cooper(Sam Cooper) Kristee Nash( Jerry Nash)and Quedell Ferguson (All of Omaha Nebraska)Her Children: Damon Starks Sr. (of Omaha Nebraska), LaKyshia D. Starks(of Saint Louis Missouri) and Mayta S. Visitation will be Friday, 11/14/2025 at 10am, at Roeder Mortuary on 50th and Ames.

Service will follow the visitation at 11am.
