Susan M. Kreifels

Susan was born on February 8th, 1964 to Frank and Margie Rezac in Lincoln, NE and raised in Waverly, NE. She also had two older sisters that she was raised with.

I met my wife Susan in 1984 as she was attending school at Lincoln Southeast. We fell in love with each other and was married in Lincoln three years later on September 12th in 1987 we were married.

I met Susan in 1984 as I was attending UNL and she was going to Lincoln Southeast. We met a casual meeting place. Three years later I married the love of my life. We were married on September 12th, 1987.

My mom was the loving light and the glue that always held our family together. MOST of all my mom was my life and my very best friend.

From the day I was born till the very end I was her everything and she was mine too.

She worked at Younkers at Oakview Mall in Omaha for 35 years and I was lucky and blessed to have had the opportunity to share four years of also working with her at Younkers.

We also were a mother and daughter duo after her time with Younkers working together at other retail places and I’m very fortunate to have worked together with her.

She taught me what it meant to have a hard-working work ethic. Most importantly she showed me to always stand up for what I believed in and to always be yourself.

She enjoyed her mother and daughter walks with our dog and she always enjoyed reading her books while sitting outside.

Susan will always be remembered as a loving wife and BEST mother a daughter can ever have in this world. Our home won’t be the same anymore without seeing my mom’s smile and hearing her voice and her running the house daily. Also, her setting up our house for all the holidays with her decorations. She set the tone and made our house a home with her never ending love and care and it never gone unnoticed.

Susan was my dad’s and my rock and without her here it’s not the same. Her memories will stay with us forever. We are blessed she was in our lives till the unexpected end and will always remain in our hearts.

Susan survived by her loving husband: John; and daughter: Ashley; and including our dog: Sammy; and also her two sisters: Debra (Bob Hansel) Stickney and Sharon (Jeff) Ryan; and many nieces and nephews and relatives.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Margie Rezac.

There will be a Celebration of Life: 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday (10/3/2025) at Roeder Mortuary 11710 Standing Stone Dr. Gretna, NE.
