Steven Douglas DeSoe

Steven “Steve” Douglas DeSoe, lovingly known as “Pa” by his family, will be remembered for his deep love, unwavering loyalty, and strong faith. A quiet and humble man of remarkable character, Steve touched the lives of many through both his actions and his example.

Steve shared 55 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cheryl. Together, they raised three children of their own and opened their home and hearts to many others through foster care, ultimately adopting seven more children to complete their family. He was a proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Pa was a devoted fan of Nebraska football, faithfully watching every game with hope and optimism, always believing that next year would be their year—just like every true Nebraska fan.

He dedicated 35 years of hard work to the same company, only stepping away when he was no longer physically able to continue.

Steve’s strong faith provided him with peace throughout his life and now offers peace of mind to his family, who find comfort in the belief that he is at eternal rest and that they will one day be reunited.

He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his 3 siblings. Steve’s life will be honored at a private family service.
