Steve A. Lewis

Steve Lewis, age 73 of Gretna, died Tuesday February 25, 2020 from pancreatic cancer at his home surrounded by his family. Steve, son of Arthur and Helen Lewis was born on May 31, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. On March 27, 1971 he married Linda Thornsberry.

He served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserve for 32 years. Steve was the manager of engineering and maintenance for Campbell Soup in Omaha from 1986-2001.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gretna. He was also on the City of Gretna planning commission until his resignation due to illness.  A Lifelong Kansas City Royals baseball fan, Steve enjoyed model railroading, virtual flight planning, working on classic cars and watching his grandchildren at a variety of sports and activities. Survivors include his wife, Linda; his children Andy Lewis of Crestwood, KY, Matt Lewis of Gretna, Missy Schere of Waverly; 7 grandchildren; and a brother Mike Lewis of Kansas City, Mo. He was proceeded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday February 29 at Roeder Mortuaries in Gretna and Burial will be Monday 11:00 AM March 2 at the Omaha National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
