Stanley (Stan) Hrabik

Gretna - Stanley Hrabik passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024. Stanley is survived by his wife of 55 years Lillian (Woodward), children Brian (Jenny), Angela Price, Brad, Grandchildren Hayden (Emma), Hollie, James, Wyatt and Annabel, sister Shirley Riha, sisters-in-law Connie Chizek and LuAnn Woodward, many nieces and nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents James and Ann (Svajgl), brother and sister-in-law James (JoAnn) brother and sister-in-law Charles (JoAnn), brother-in-law Louie Riha, brother-in-law Jerry Chizek, sister-in-law Billie Rosendahl, sister-in-law Jackie Barjenbruch and brother-in-law Phil Woodward.

Stan was a carpenter and took pride in his craftsmanship. Many friends and family had Stan do work for them because of his skill. Stan built three houses where he lived and started his family. The last house was built in Springfield NE where he lived for 42 years. This is where all his kids grew up. This house was the center of the family and housed many events for family and friends. He enjoyed being with family but his grandkids held a special place in his heart. He would do anything for them and they could bring the biggest smile to his face. Stan also enjoyed his Polka music. Whether it was watching the Big Joe Polka show or dancing to it at weddings. Family weddings always had to have a Polka song for Stan and Lil to dance. Stan was always introducing his favorite music to a younger generation of the family.

One of Stan's favorite things was their yearly trip to Minnesota. While there he loved to sit on the dock and look out over the lake. He also loved watching Nebraska Volleyball and rooting them on to victory. Stan was very happy to be in attendance for the 2015 National Championship. He loved telling everyone about being at the game.

Stan will be remembered for many things by family and friends. Most of all we will remember him for his gentle soul and a smile that would light up a room.
