11710 Standing Stone Drive Gretna, Nebraska 68028 332-0090 Shirley June Bolon was born in Beallsville, Ohio on December 19, 1935 to Raymond and Mary Bolon. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Richard Peterson; parents, Raymond Bolon and Mary Hill; sisters, Mary Ann Muniz & Patricia Pacifico. Shirley was a very hard worker & had a very strong work ethic. She started work at Western Electric in 1961 & retired in 1994. She was the second oldest of 4 children, her sister Patricia, Brother David and her half sister Mary Ann.  She learned to play the violin and had dreams of becoming a nurse.  She brought joy to newlyweds with her amazing artistic wedding cakes. Her favorite activities included cooking, baking, quilting & playing 31. She was an avid Husker fan with some loyalty to the Ohio State Buckeyes. She was a member of the Gretna United Methodist Church where she enjoyed fellowship & her Bible Study group where she developed some very special lifelong friendships. Shirley was a loyal and trustworthy friend. She could give great hugs. She was unfailingly kind & had a desire to care for others. She could let you know how much she loved you with not only her words, but equally with her actions. Shirley was called home on August 5, 2019. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her beloved children: Deborah Glazebrook, John Barris, Linda S. Barris, Sheryl Schroeder, Jeff Barris, Robert Peterson; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother David Bolon; many nieces & nephews.
