Shirley A, Burns

Shirley A. Burns, age 91, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on April 16, 1935, in Salem, South Dakota.

Shirley lived a life centered on family, friendship, and the simple joys that brought people together. She especially loved attending her grandsons’ sporting events and was a proud supporter of her grandchildren, grandnieces, and grandnephews, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer them on from the sidelines. She also enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, and creating lasting memories with friends and family.

Those who knew Shirley will remember her kind heart, unwavering support for her loved ones, and the joy she found in being surrounded by family. Her presence at family gatherings, sporting events, and celebrations will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Tom Burns; her son, Scott and wife Tina; her cherished grandsons, Jackson and Carter; her sister, Connie; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Service 11:00 AM Friday (6/19/2026), with Visitation 1 hour prior, at Lord of Love Lutheran Church 10405 Fort St. Omaha, NE; Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha, NE.
