Shelly Sue (Ehler) Reimer, 60, of Omaha, passed away on December 17, 2024, of complications due to Histoplasmosis, a rare fungal infection.

Shelly was born on November 23, 1964, in West Point, Nebraska, to Gerald and Marlene Ehler. She grew up on a farm that is situated between Beemer and Bancroft, Nebraska. Shelly was a 1983 graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. She was very active in 4-H. Shelly had a passion for working with cattle, and she showed them at Cuming County Fairs, Nebraska State Fairs, and Aksarben livestock shows.

Shelly graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1987, and she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science. She was an active member of Alpha Chi Omaga sorority.

Shelly’s entire work career was associated with the food and beverage distribution industry, where she worked regionally, as well as locally. She was very knowledgeable of all of the products her companies had to offer, and customer satisfaction was paramount to her.

Shelly was a very strong Christian and it showed through in her daily actions, especially in her interactions with others. She met her husband, Leslie, through church, and they continued to be very active members at The Water’s Edge Church. Shelly was a very loving step-mother to Leslie’s two children, Jennifer and Allison, and was a very loving and proud grandmother to Mila and Gabe.

Shelly was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Ehler; and her step-daughter, Jennifer (Reimer) Zeplin.

Shelly is survived by her husband, Leslie; her step-daughter, Allison (Mitch) Mele, and their children Mila and Gabriel; her mother, Marlene Ehler; her sister Julie (Bruce) White; her brother Todd (Denise) Ehler; niece Colleen (Brennan) Downs, and their children Breelyn and Bristol; niece Susan White; niece Anna (Garret) Ward, and their child Rose; niece Alyssa Ehler; and step-nephew Brian Barlow.

Visitation: Friday, December 27, 2024, from 9:30 - 11:00 AM, at The Water’s Edge Church, 19600 Harrison Street, Gretna, NE.

Celebration of Life Service: Friday, December 27, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at The Water’s Edge Church. The celebration of Life Service will be streamed at www.youtube.com/weomaha

Luncheon will follow the Celebration of Life service in the Community Room at The Water’s Edge Church.
