2727 N. 108th St. Omaha, NE 496-9000 Sally was born on September 7, 1939 to George and Marylee Palmer. She attended Central High School, where she was a member A cappella Choir and performed in annual musical productions. She graduated from Central High in 1957. Sally then attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she majored in Sociology with the intent of becoming a Social Worker. At UNO she met Bob and knew instantly that she found her soul mate. After Bob graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree, they married at Pella Lutheran Church on June 10, 1961. They moved to Chicago and Grand Rapids where Bob worked for Florsheim Shoe Company. Their daughter Kathleen was born on November 2, 1963 and Michelle followed on March 16, 1967. Sally worked for the Omaha Public Schools as a Para-Professional with special education for may years. She mentored confirmands and was active in the Stephens Ministry, choir and teaching preschool. Her hobbies were golf, bridge and the company of friends. She dedicated her life to family, children and her faith. Sally is survived by husband of 59 years: Robert; children: Kathleen Hansel, Michelle Shonka; grandchildren: Robert Ticknor, Eyan Hansel, Zachery Shonka, Caleb Shonka, Cassandra Shonka; Sisters: Jackie Byers, Mary Reidinger. In Lieu of Flowers Memorials to Lutheran Church of the Master Preschool.
