Roy J. Townsend

Roy John Townsend, age 78, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away, 5th of August 2023, at his home surrounded by close family and friends.

Roy was born February 2, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of the late John J. Townsend and Lucille A. Townsend. Roy graduated high school from Omaha Benson in 1964. After high school, he pursued a lifelong career in the food industry business. He had a passion for fishing, I’ll figure it out, and a do-it-yourself mentality. 

Roy was a caring and loving husband, married three times during his life journey. He relished in knowing his seven children and grandkids were thriving in their life’s journey. He will always be with them till the end.   

He is survived by his siblings; Marilyn, Janet, Geraldine, Larraine, and Mary; children: Mark, Troy, Roy, Danny, Kevin, Jodi, Ryan; and grandkids. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held 10 AM Friday (8/11/2023) at Roeder Mortuary 4932 Ames Ave. Omaha NE. A luncheon in his honor will be held following the conclusion of the funeral at Blondo Bingo Hall, 8061 Blondo Street, Omaha, NE 68134. 

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
