Roy D. Clark

Roy David Clark, age 77, drew his last breath on July 26, 2026, with his wife and family by his side. Roy was born August 7, 1948 to Ralph and Catherine Hazel Parks in Sioux City, Iowa. Roy was the fifth out of seven children. Roy was drafted into the Army in the late 1960s. He remained stateside and returned home in the spring of 1970. Upon returning home his previous friendship with Stella Louise Peck bloomed into romance. Roy and Stella were married March 6, 1971. Roy, Stella, and beloved canine companion, Foxy moved to Omaha, NE in the summer of 72. Roy drove over the road for various trucking companies with Stella and Foxy occasionally riding shotgun and sharing in his adventures. Roy and Stella’s first child, Melisa Sue Clark, was born in 1981 and was welcomed into their home on Roy’s 33rd birthday that year.

In 1984, Joshua David Clark was born and joined the family on Mother’s Day of that year.

Roy continued to work in the trucking industry until his retirement in 2020. He built a life anchored in his strong work ethic and his generosity to his family and loved ones. Roy enjoyed gardening, being the favorite human of all the Clark family dogs, and working on cars. His driveway was sure to have a project vehicle parked in it and he taught his children how to change their own tires, although they always knew he’d be there to do it for them in a heartbeat.

Roy is survived by wife of 55 years: Stella Louise; daughter: Melisa; son: Joshua; beloved dog: Gypsy. Roy embraced the role of honorary grandparent to Chandler Derby Rine and Jordan Derby, children of great nephew: Jason Derby. Roy was delighted to spend time with his honorary great-grandchild: Brooks Rine in his final months. Roy is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Judy, Kitty, Becky, and Trudy; along with many cherished nieces and nephews and their spouses. Roy was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Catherine Hazel Clark; siblings: Dorothy Jane Deaton, Ralph William, John Joseph, Susan Clark, Dean Michael, and Eugene Clark.
