Roger L. Hadan Sr.

Roger was born August 11, 1941, and married Helen Liesche on Dec 1, 1961. They had 4 fabulous children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Roger worked for the MAT Bus company for 20 years before retiring to start his own engine shop (Roger's Engines).

Roger's hobby during his younger years was racing. He became interested in the sport when his parents-built Sunset Speedway and let him water the track. Around 1958, he got his first race car and never looked back. Racing for a total of 26 years and included 2 IMCA track championships.

Between racing and driving a bus, Roger and Helen found time to build their own house and shops at 11906 Hadan Street. Living on the farm was the highlight of his life. He raised pigs for extra money, and you would often find him hand feeding each pig. If he wanted, and he often did, he would test drive his race car on the county street. One time, not knowing that a cop was sitting up around the corner. He was also very competitive and always wanted to win. That included entering the bus rodeo and winning first place.

No matter what, you could always find Roger attending his kids (grand and great grand) events, fishing, spending countless hours collecting coins, and watching Husker sports. July 4th was his favorite holiday where he could blow things up and get a little crazy with his bird banger gun.

He was also known for his Midwest goodbye, always having one more thing to say; not letting you leave too soon.

Roger is survived by his children, Roger A., Renne, Rachelle, and Russell; grandchildren, Roger C., Racine, Danny, Sarah, Anna, and Kyle; great grandchildren, Mylee, Mic, and Liberty; and sister, Karen Long.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Fern and Albert Hadan; brother, Dale; and wife, Helen.
