Robert B. Gammel, Sr.

Robert Bryce Gammel Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 23. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Robert was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where he graduated from North High School. He went on to enjoy a long and successful career in the aviation industry.

A longtime Shriner, Robert loved making people smile and laugh through his service with the clown patrol. He also enjoyed cooking and was a master chef. During his time in Louisiana, he served on the church greeting committee and found great joy in serving others through the Lord’s work.

Robert is survived by his children: Deb and Kevin McMullen, Patty and Tony Smith, Bobby, Jr. and Amy Gammel, and Tracy Vance. He is also survived by his siblings: Gary Gammel, Roger and Carol Gammel, Sue Gammel and Jeff Brothen; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Dr. Donald Gammel; and his grandson: Chuck Gammel.

Celebration of Life will be Sunday (9/27/2026) from 1:00-5:00pm at the VFW Post 2503 located at 8904 Military Rd, Omaha, NE 68134.
