Robert Alan Davis

Robert Alan Davis, born December 1, 1959, in Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved son of Alan Davis and Barbara Davis Conners, both of whom preceded him in death.

Bob grew up in Connecticut and spent parts of his childhood in Detroit and Chicago before settling in Nebraska. He graduated from Millard High School in 1977, where his deep ties to the Millard community began. For many years, Bob was employed at Control Data / Seagate, followed by Imaging Services, as a software engineer and technician.

Bob met the love of his life, Sylvia, at Millard Days in 1980. They later served together on the Millard Days Committee, continuing their bond with the community. After moving the family to Gretna in 2002 to support the growth of Sylvia’s home childcare, he found great joy in building a space for Sylvia and the young children to grow and play. While in Gretna, he worked for several years at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, where he entertained and educated guests with the Pumpkin Chunkin’ Cannon show as “Mr. Bob.”

Bob had a deep sense of service and community. He was a proud Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight at both St. Stephen the Martyr in Omaha and St. Patrick’s in Gretna. He had a love for water, boating, and river adventures, and a lifelong passion for Star Wars. A brilliant engineer and tireless tinkerer, Bob could build or fix anything - from engines to computers to homes - and found joy in creating and improving the spaces his family called home.

He shared his love of animals, especially his cherished Great Dane, Dalmatians, and faithful Maltese, Kissy. His devotion to his family was unmatched, and his resilience through the years of health challenges was extraordinary.

Cherishing his memory are his wife of 40 years, Sylvia; his children: Anthony, Stephanie (Joshua) Langham, Jennifer (Matthew) Bova; his granddaughter who brought him great joy, Lillian; mother-in-law, Lucy Siracuse; siblings-in-law: Gina (Tim) Halbur, Ann Marie (Vincent) Salerno, Nicholas (Renee) Siracuse, Anthony (Colleen) Siracuse; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bob leaves behind a legacy of devotion, creativity, resilience, and love. His impact lives on through the many people who called him a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
