Omaha - Richard “Dick” Paul Willis was born July 25, 1956 to parents Donald and Lucille Willis in Tekamah, NE.

He grew up later in Omaha, NE as the only son of four children; Nancy, Pat, Dick and Terri.

Dick attended Wakonda Elementary, Nathan Hale Middle School and Omaha North High School. After graduation in 1974, Dick went to the United States Marine Corp. He was a Marine Corp Police Officer in California. He loved his travels and opportunities during his time in the Marines.

After leaving the Marines in 1976, Dick started his life long career at Lozier Corp. He was a forklift driver and later went on to become a welder. He had a long and crazy journey at Lozier and retired on October 1, 2020. Over the years, he played horseshoes and coached their women’s softball teams. He also played slow pitch softball for years.

Dick loved his family more than life itself. He married his lifeline friend Tina in 1988, and started his family. His children; Trisha, Annie, Richie and Laura were his pride and joy. Unfortunately, the family lost Laura at a very young age, 14 months old. This was devastating to all but they pushed through. Dick went on to coach the kids’ little league baseball and softball teams as they grew older. His son, Richie played football for Lil’ Vikes Football and then for Omaha North High School and Dick never missed a game, even on Thanksgiving weekend when they traveled to a tournament in Lacawanna, MO. As the kids got older and had children of their own, Dick was blessed with his grandchildren; Dean, David, Doug, Lizzy, Arya and Jaxson. Dick came out of retirement to coach Lizzy in softball in Carter Lake for several years and this kept him moving and going. Then came the great grandchildren; Tiberius and Kassia. Dick loved spending time with all the family and being a part of every moment he could be.

The only thing that he loved just as much as family was Husker Football. No matter how the team was doing, he was supporting them. He loved watching Husker softball and Husker Volleyball as well. He was a true Husker Fan.

Dick was preceded in death by his sister Nancy; his daughter Laura; parents Donald and Lucille.

Dick is survived by his sisters: Pat Bittner; Terri (Ed) Rodabaugh; Children: Trisha (Eric) Humphrey; Annie (Brian) Gallagher; Richie Willis; Grandchildren: Dean (Mechelle) Henrichs; David Henrichs; Douglas Henrichs; Elizabeth (Lizzy) Humphrey; Eric Humphrey Jr; Arya Gallagher; Jaxson Gallagher; Great Grandchildren: Tiberius (Ty) Henrichs, Kassia (Sia) Henrichs; Nieces and Nephews: Jimmy Krejci; Jay Krejci; Ryan (Dana) Bittner; Shannon (Brad) Bittner-Miller; Jerod Krejci; Taylor Jones; Cody Jones; Kallie (Brody) Stonebraker; Tina Willis; and many, many other family members and friends.

Please make sure that you wear your Husker Gear instead of dressing up. Dad wouldn’t want it any other way.
