Richard was born on October 22nd, 1939 in Randolph, Nebraska. He graduated from high school, lettering in basketball and track in 1957. He went into the Navy from 1957 to 1960. He met the love of his life in 1963 and they married the following year. They were married for 60 wonderful years and had two beautiful children. Richard also had a daughter from a previous relationship. 

Richard worked in retail accounting for over 25 years and also managed the evidence room at the Omaha Police Department for 13 years. He then semi-retired and worked part time as court security at the Sarpy County Courthouse. 

Richard's favorite hobby was competative shooting. He was a member of the Eastern Nebraska Practical Shooters Gun Club for over 40 years. During which time he received many awards and trophies. He was an excellent marksman.

Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Richard is preceded in death by: mother Marjorie Marx and brother Ronald Marx. He is survived by children: Greg Marx, Melanie Zeimet (Bryan), and Shauntelle Adams. 7 Grandchildren: Michaela Gourley (Kevin), Jackson Zeimet, Nathan Zeimet, Olivia Zeimet, Lindsey Jenkins (John), Dustin Korkow (Laura), Mackenzie Ott (Andy). 12 great grandchildren: Phoenix, Elliot, Emersyn, Edyn, Daxson, Julia, Amelia, Jameson, Charolette, Calvin, Annalise, Luther, and many friends. 

Visitation Monday (1/27/25) 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Roeder Mortuary. Funeral Service 10:30 AM Tuesday (1/28/25) at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 5419 N 114th St. Omaha. A luncheon will follow the Funeral Service. Memorials to Nebraska Humane Society or the family for designation later.
