Rena Lynn Mammel was born November 18, 1942 in Omaha, NE to Robert W. and Doris M. Randall.   She attended Benson High School where she graduated in 1960.  She attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

On July 6, 1963, she married her love, William Charles Mammel at Bethany Lutheran Church in Omaha.  In 1964, they had their first child, William C., Jr. in California.  In 1965, they returned to Omaha and lived in Ralston where they built their first house together.  While Bill worked at Modern Electric with his father-in-law, Bob Randall, Sr., Lynn worked at Kilpatrick’s Department Store. In 1976 they had their second child, Shari Michelle.  In 1977, they purchased a farm between Omaha and Blair so Lynn could have her horses near her.  From that began the largest Christmas tree farm in Nebraska, Santa’s Woods.  Of course, Lynn also had her reindeer, Clydesdales and cattle along with numerous cats and dogs at the farm.  Together, Lynn and Bill travelled all around North America seeing wondrous natural sights, lots of wildlife and many a train all from the comfort of their motor home.  Lynn was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and travelled with Shari’s Girl Scout Troup to a lot of campouts and even to Mexico over the years.  For over 30 years, Bill and Lynn attended Atonement Lutheran Church where their daughter, Shari, married her husband, Jason and their granddaughters, Elise Morgan and Paislee Marie, were baptized.

Lynn was an avid book reader who could read for hours while her cats kept her legs warm.  She also loved going to a plethora of Bible studies with her friends.  She really enjoyed her Blair Extension Club meetings with her friends as well.  She devoted her life to serve the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.  She is survived by her brother Robert Jr., her children Bill Jr., Shari and her husband, Jason and granddaughters Elise and Paislee as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
