Ray Murray, Jr.

Ray Murray, Jr. was born on June 14, 1944 in Blythville, Arkansas to Ray Murray, Sr. and mary Marie Jones.  After Ray Sr. and Mary moved to Omaha Ray Jr. attended Long School and Technical High School When Ray learned to drive, he purchased a car which he named “The Wine Wagon”.  Soon after that, he started working at Harry’s Key Club as a cook.  Ray Jr. then married Patricia Davis in February of 1963.  They soon had five children together; Nettie, Clifford, Ray III, Gregg and Sherell. Ray then became a machinist for Sperry Vickers for over 30 years, where he worked until he retired. Ray Jr. loved working on his cars, home remodeling and fishing.  He also loved to joke around and was known for his quick-witted comedian like humor, which he was really good at. Ray Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Ray Sr.; mother, Mary Murray; brothers, Reuben, Terry, Wallace and Bill Murray; his second wife, Linda Murray. He leaves to cherish his memory son’s, Clifford , Ray Jr. III and Greg Murray ; daughter’s, Nettie Murray-Davis and Sherell Murray; sister, Gussie Jackson; brother’s, Larry Murray and Bishop Bobby Murray ; grandchildren, Sherrita Foye-Patrick, Jeffery, Breyonna, Tanajha, Alonzo and Kennisha Murray; great-grandchildren, Song Minor, Amari and Xaivion Thompson and JeLisa Murray and a host of relatives, special friends, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday, January 13, 2022 with the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Ave. Interment: Forest Lawn Cemetery, 7909 Mormon Bridge Rd.
