Randy F. James

Randy was born on March 9, 1957 in Quincy, Illinois. He spent his childhood growing up in Tioga and Marcelline, Illinois. After high school he worked in the foundry first at Midwest in Quincy, Illinois and later at Poly in Ursa, Illinois. He and his beloved wife, Janet James (Wright), made their home in Warsaw, Illinois, where they lived together until Janet's passing.

Following Janet's passing he moved to Chambersburg, Missouri. After that he moved to Keokuk, Iowa.

Randy relocated to Omaha to be closer to his remaining family. He found happiness and companionship with his fiancé, Jana Ohlman, who remained by his side during his final years.

Randy dedicated much of his life to working with horses, first as a skilled horse farrier and later expanding his expertise by traveling to Colorado for specialized training in equine dentistry.

Horses were more than a profession to Randy—they were his lifelong passion. He loved trail riding in a variety of settings and was always eager to load up the horses and head out to explore new trails, landscapes, and adventures. His love of horses was matched only by his love of travel and discovering new places.

A true outdoorsman, Randy loved boating, fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends in simple, casual gatherings filled with laughter and good conversation.

Randy will be remembered for his generous heart, his easygoing spirit, his love of family, and his passion for horses, music, muscle cars, engines, travel, and adventure. He leaves behind countless memories of trail rides, family gatherings, laughter, and kindness. His wisdom, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Randy is survived by his loving fiancé, Jana Ohlman; nephew, Arthur Grubbs (Michelle Grubbs); niece, Angie Smith (Scott Smith); and his great-nephew, Michael Smith (Claire Smith); step daughter, Kristin McKnight (Mike McKnight); and their children (Molina and Michaela).
