It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Preston Roseby, who departed this life surrounded by family and love.
Born on June 1, 1943, in Elwood, Kansas, Preston was a man of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep pride in his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Emanuel Roseby, and his beloved mother, Ruth Roseby; and sister, Waverlene (Doll) Moore and her husband, Harold Moore.
Preston's life was defined by his commitment to those he loved. He was a devoted husband to Shirley Roseby, with whom he shared a life of enduring partnership and care. Together, they raised two sons, Johan Roseby and Jeremy Roseby, who carry forward his legacy of integrity and love. He was also a proud father-in-law to Rayna Roseby, and a deeply cherished grandfather to Sierra Roseby, Sydney Roseby, and Jeremiah Roseby.
Preston’s love extended to his extended family, including Shaquetta Roseby, DaeShonna Summage, and DaeShonna’s husband and son, KJ, all of whom brought him great joy and laughter.
Throughout his life, Preston found joy in the simple things—spending time with family, reflecting near the water with a fishing pole in hand during his younger years, and admiring fast cars that reminded him of life's thrill. He had a quiet but magnetic presence, one that grounded those around him and made everyone feel at home. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
A Wake in Preston’s honor will be held on Tuesday, June 10th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. His Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, June 11th at 11:00 AM located at 2727 N 108th Street, Omaha, NE 68164, with graveside services following at 1:30 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery.
A Repass will be held afterward at Cunningham's Bar and Grill, located at 10904 W Dodge Rd, Omaha, NE 68154.
We are grateful for the many beautiful memories we shared with Preston. May his soul rest in peace and may his life continue to inspire love, strength, and unity in us all.
