Philip Marquard, age 73, passed away on June 24, 2024, at Emmanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was born on November 13, 1951, in Cleveland, OH.
He graduated from Benson High School in 1970, where he met his wife, Bobbie, whom he was married to for 50 years. Before graduating, Phil received the rank of Lt. Colonel from Benson's ROTC at the 1970 Military Ball.
Phil graduated from Creighton University. He worked at Berkshire Hathaway, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Omaha, Mutual of Omaha, and CHI in various positions as a Senior Application Programmer and Business Applications Analyst. He also taught college classes in computer science early in his career.
Phil loved fishing, hiking, and taking numerous road trips with his family out west. He enjoyed setting up science experiments with his grandsons, Atticus and Anakin.
Phil had a wonderful relationship with the Lord. He enjoyed attending services at Emmanuel Fellowship and later in life, he was able to listen virtually on Sundays. Outside of Emmanuel services, you could find him streaming different sermon podcasts on his phone.
Phil is survived by his wife Bobbie, son Daniel, daughter Rachel (Jason), grandsons Atticus and Anakin, four brothers Steve, Paul, Jim, and Conrad, their spouses, and his sisters Maribeth and Julianne, and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Agnes Marquard, and his sister, Claudia Brand.
A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Fellowship, 8345 Crown Point Ave, Omaha, NE 68134, on August 17, 2024, at 11 AM.
