His occupation was with the Military Police and he took classes as a Field Music Specialist. His military obligation ended in September 1961. When Patrick returned home his music career began. His was a great guitar player, as well as many other instruments. His favorite place for his band to play was at the Twins on N 16th. They needed a name for the band and looked to Patrick for any ideas. He chose The Green Pants Band. One would ask "Why would you choose a name like that?" He would answer, "We all owned green pants." Besides a wonderful guitar player, he also penned and sang many a song. He would later record these songs in his make shift music studio in his motor home. During Patrick's band days, he met Charlotte Portrey. They married and had two children, Cynthia in 1963 and Michael in 1967. Soon after, they divorced and Patrick remained single. In August of 1975, Patrick made a raft that he called Riff Raff. He launched it from Dodge Park and soon realized that it was not a good idea. The rutter was too small and he began spinning with the current. He finally crashed into shore by Rulo NE the next day. Patrick changed his profession to Semi Truck driving. He did some over the road and then changed to local. He drove dump trucks and water trucks for Negus and Sons on N 16th. When driving slowed down, Patrick became the on site security with his beloved dog, Spooky. Patrick also began his service with God and joined the Church of the Messiah. He loved to drive his yellow Toyota Dolphin camper with large posters of the Words of Jesus splayed on the sides. He would go to his favorite spot at Dodge Park to enjoy the Missouri River and talk to people about God.
