Patricia Beth Watts, age 85, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on March 7th, 2024, while residing in Kansas City, Missouri.

Patty was born on July 11th, 1938, to Hubert and Beatrice Shannon in Omaha, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at Pearl United Methodist Church. After Patty graduated from Omaha North High School in 1956, she went on to study Education and Music at Omaha University. During this time, Patty was an active member of the International Order of Job’s Daughters, where she was crowned Honored Queen in 1957. After graduating with a degree in Education, she began her career with Omaha Public schools where she eventually retired in 2005.

On June 27th, 1958, Patty married John Watts at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Omaha. Together they raised two children, Timothy John and Lori Elizabeth, during their 36 years of marriage.

Patty’s strong passion for music led her to become an organist, pianist, and choir director at numerous churches, including Pearl United Methodist, Salem Lutheran, and St. Paul United Methodist. She was also proficient in many other musical instruments. Patty demonstrated her talent and love for music, playing for countless weddings, funerals, and special events. 

Throughout her life, Patty served her community as an educator, business owner, and florist. During her teaching career, she had a love for nurturing young students and a passion for helping those with disabilities. Later in her career, Patty taught children learning English as a second language, as well as American Sign Language. 

Patty was enthusiastic about spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, traveling, collecting cardinals, and photographing all of the above. 

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Timothy; brothers-in-law: Paul Watts and Kirk Hansen.

She is survived by her daughter Lori (Wayne) Schold of Weatherby Lake, Missouri; granddaughter Anna (Andrew) Marks of Kansas City, Missouri; grandson James Schold of Winter Park, Colorado; sister Diane Hansen of Omaha; brother Richard (Christina) Shannon of Sanford, North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. 

Visitation Thursday ( 3/21/2024 ) 10:00 AM at Roeder Mortuary with Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park Omaha, NE.  Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Patty’s favorite charity.
