Patricia J. Tines (Madden)

Patricia’s life was defined by love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. A gentle and caring mother, she dedicated herself to raising her children and later, cherished every moment with her grandchildren. As a homemaker, she prioritized being present for her children, ensuring they grew up surrounded by love and support. Once her youngest child grew older, Patricia returned to school and earned her Associate of Arts Degree from McCook Community College—a testament to her love of learning and determination.

During high school, Patricia was a cheerleader and was honored as Homecoming Queen. She had a deep passion for music, playing the saxophone throughout high school and continuing into college. She married her high school sweetheart, Gayle, and together they built a life filled with love and shared memories.

Patricia had a passion for learning and creativity. She adored working in her rose garden, carefully cultivating stunning blooms and arranging them in her family’s cherished antique vessels. She never missed a single event for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. They often turned to their grandmother for guidance and support—especially when they found themselves in trouble—knowing she would always be there for them.

In 2016, Patricia began her battle with Alzheimer’s, a difficult journey for her and her loved ones. She spent her final years with her devoted daughter, Lisa, with whom she shared daily conversations and a deep bond. She lovingly cared for Lisa’s three children, always ensuring they were surrounded by warmth and affection. In her later years, she found comfort in the presence of her son-in-law, Greg, who, along with Lisa and dear friend Terry, provided compassionate care during her final days.

Patricia brought joy to everyone around her. She had a keen sense of style, always appreciating a good pair of fine shoes. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be forever remembered by those who were lucky enough to know her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years: Gayle Tines; son: John Tines; and daughter-in-law: Connie Tines; siblings: Cecil Madden, Cecilia Hertz, Clarence Madden, Esther Joseph, and Mary Burdick. She is survived by her children: Mick Tines, Lisa (Greg) Hullinger; grandchildren: Crista (Jason) Murrish, Jamie Tines, John Patrick (Diane) Tines, Michael (Beth) Hlavinka, Andrew Hullinger, and Madison Hullinger; great-grandchildren: Rylee, Colton, Kyler, Carter, Asher, and Olivia; and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
