Patricia “Trish” Lynn Stewart Koch, 68, of Papillion, Nebraska, entered into eternal life on August 3, 2026, in Omaha. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Trish was born August 9, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Carl and Gerry Stewart. She graduated from Westside High School in 1976, then earned a dental assistant degree and worked at Creighton University School of Dentistry. On December 2, 1978, she married the love of her life, Steven A. Koch. Together they were blessed with four children.
While raising her family, Trish worked as a secretary for Great Plains Business Forms and Equipment Co. She later spent 20 years at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service at Offutt Air Force Base. After retiring, she and Steve made their home in Papillion.
Trish devoted herself to supporting her children in swimming, soccer, and basketball. When her sister became ill, she and Steve warmly opened their home to their niece Marlo. Above all, Trish’s greatest joy was time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She loved gathering everyone around a home-cooked meal and proudly called herself the “Hostess with the Mostest.” Family vacations at the Lake of the Ozarks ranked among her favorite times, late nights playing “31,” listening to Journey, and sharing endless laughter. A close second to her love of family was her spoiled Basset hound, Hank, and a good game of Candy Crush. She was joyfully anticipating the birth of her ninth grandchild later this summer.
Trish is survived by her husband of 47 years: Steven Allen Koch; children: Danielle (Todd) Finley of St. Charles, Missouri, Steven (Kyle Boysen) of Omaha, DeAnna (David) Goff of Salem, Nebraska, and Andrew “AJ” (Hannah) Koch of Omaha; nieces: Marlo (Jason) Tomich of Omaha and Andrea (Corey) Skradski of Omaha; grandchildren: Dryden, Isaac, and Reid Finley; Cole, Chloe, Claire, and Colin Goff; Christian and baby Koch; siblings: Kathy (Bill) Kramer, Sue (Fred) Kortus, Gayle (Joel) Hennings, and Jay (Tina) Stewart; stepfather-in-law: Don Schettler; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Gerry Stewart; in-laws: Richard Koch and Vera (Koch) Schettler; sister: Debbie McVea; sister-in-law: Sue Koch; and nephew: Ryan Kortus.
