Pat became a young mother of two by the age of twenty-one. Her mother helped to raise her children while she worked full-time for the U.S. Postal Service and took on additional part-time jobs to make ends meet. She was devoted to her children, making sure they did not want for anything. Christmases were always extra special, and many memories were made at Merritt's Beach in the summer.
At the age of fifty-five, Pat retired from the U.S. Postal Service after thirty-five years of devoted service. Soon after, she eagerly took care of her daughter's five children before and after school and through the summers while her daughter and son-in-law worked.
Pat enjoyed many things throughout her life Music and dancing were high on her list when she was in her younger years. She loved the occasional trips to Las Vegas, going to Aksarben for live horse racing and spending time with her lifelong friends, Sandy and Donna. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Nebraska Cornhuskers, passing that love down to her children and grandchildren. Most of all and above all else, she adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Trips to Disneyland, Disney World, the zoo, Cubs games, Husker games, and the College World Series every year. She was a part of every holiday and backyard barbecue. She was there for every school program, athletic game in which her grandchildren participated, and every graduation. Her family was everything to her.
Pat is preceded in death by her grandson, Paul. She is survived by her son, Bill Brock, her daughter, Vickie Richter (Ron), grandchildren Andy (Katie), Jodi, Katie (Mike), Lauren (Brenden), Carly and great-grandchildren Charley, Haley, Kathryn, Khloe, Peyton, Avery, Gracie.
Visitation Wednesday (4/3/24) 5 - 7 PM at mortuary. Private burial to be held.
