Nichole Dee Strauch - Case

Gretna - Nichole Dee (Strauch) Case passed away on Friday, November 24th with her loved ones by her side, after a courageous two year battle with cancer. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, December 1st  at Roeder Memorial Chapel in Gretna, NE. with pastor Matthew Hebbert officiating. There will be a visitation at 10am followed by the memorial service at 11am.

It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Nichole's honor be made in care of the Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff, NE, or Memories for Kids in Omaha, NE. Nichole was born December 11th, 1980 to Dennis and EvaLou Strauch in Scottsbluff, NE.  She grew up in the Mitchell area, attending Mitchell Elementary and Mitchell Jr./Sr. High school, having graduated in 1999.  

Nichole enjoyed playing many sports including softball, volleyball and basketball.  She was an avid swimmer and was employed by the Mitchell City Pool for 6 years.

She could often be found cheering on her younger brothers as they played organized sports as well.

In 2006, Nichole married the love of her life Nicholas Case.  To this union their daughter Evie Rowan Case was born in 2020.  

Upon high school graduation, Nichole moved to Omaha, NE to pursue her degree in health care.   Attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Nichole participated in intermural volleyball and flag football.  She also participated on the Health Advisory Council and Student council.  Nichole graduated with her Bachelors in Health and Human Services in 2005 and then with her Master in Health Education in 2008.

After graduation Nichole worked for Nebraska Medicine as a surgery scheduler before finding her passion in Clinical Health Technology.  Joining OrthoNebraska, Nichole started a 15 year career working in various aspects of healthcare including, Clinical Information Technology, Sr. Project Manager and finally as a Data Analyst.

When Nichole was outside of the office she loved spending time with her family.  She loved planting flowers and gardening, watching Evie play in the yard, and spending time golfing with good friends.

Nichole is survived by her Husband, Nicholas Case and Daughter, Evie Case of Gretna, NE; Father Dennis Strauch of Mitchell, NE, Brothers Kellan (Megan) Strauch of Lincoln, NE, Blake (special friend Kelsey Dunkle) of Lincoln, NE. Nephew Brecken Strauch. Niece Anita Strauch of Lincoln, NE.  God Son Jake Darnell of Windsor, CO.  Lifelong fiend Shauna Kister of Lincoln, NE.

Nichole is preceded in death by her mother EvaLou Strauch, Alma and Leslie Wells, Darlene Meyer and Walter Strauch.  

Nichole would like to thank all the generosity bestowed upon us during this difficult time by OrthoNebraska, Carson Group,  and the great care provided by St. Croix.
