Neil E. Kilchriste, Jr.

Neil E. Kilchriste, Jr (62) passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 3rd, 2023.

Neil was born March 12, 1961, in Wichita Falls, TX to Neil Sr and Patsy (Allison) Kilchriste.  In his early childhood, the family moved to Las Vegas where Neil graduated from Eldorado High School in 1979.  As a teenager, he worked at Cashman Photo and other various Las Vegas hotels.  After graduating high school, he entered the Operating Engineers Union, working at Las Vegas Building Materials, alongside his father.

In 1986, Neil met Angela.  This union produced 2 children, Neil and Niles. In the early 90’s he moved to Nebraska where he would go on to work at Vickers in Omaha and later Griffin Pipe in Council Bluffs and in 2003 he fathered his beautiful daughter, Skyler. Neil and Angela had a decades long love story and reunited and wed in 2016.  They made their home in Omaha.  Neil had a zest for life and was notorious for his sense of humor and quick wit.  He was an extremely talented craftsman and master guitarist.  He had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles, music, philosophy, poetry and was a skilled builder and flier of radio- controlled airplanes.  Neil was a jack of all trades and could do, create, or build anything he set his mind to.  Neil battled Cancer for 20 years but always managed to stay positive, keep his faith in God, and hold on to that famous sense of humor of his.  As he slowed down later in life, Neil found great joy caring for his dogs, working in his yard, feeding the birds and squirrels, music, his small vegetable garden, and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his sister, Sherry. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Angela; son Neil (Jessica) Kilchriste and granddaughter Charlotte Kilchriste of Grand Island; son Niles (Lauryn) Kilchriste and grandsons Nolan and Nixon Kilchriste of Jasper Georgia; daughter Skyler Potter of Missouri; brother Jerry Watson of Las Vegas, as well as nieces, nephews and many close and dear friends.

Memorial Service 10:00 AM Saturday (7/8/2023) at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th Street, Omaha, Nebraska.
