Nancy L. Short

Nancy Lee Short (Simmonds) was born on July 19, 1936, at Home to Violet M. and James W. Simmonds in Omaha, Nebraska.

Nancy graduated high school from Technical High School in 1954. As a senior she met the Love of her Life, Norman Gene Short. They married on June 16, 1956, and went on to raise a family of 6 children. Nancy worked many years as an Order Processor for Nebraska Engineering Company. While raising a family she enjoyed camping, bowling & spending time with her large family. An avid Husker Fan, her and Norm bought season Football tickets in 1962. Nancy was widowed early in life and went on to purchase land in Garfield, Arkansas. She put up a cabin and dock on Beaver Lake where she would spend half of her time between Omaha & Garfield with her widowed sister-in-law Bonnie Martin. She enjoyed reading, boating & traveling. In her later years she lived with her sister in Omaha, Joyce Flaitz (Harry) and together they enjoyed a strict regimen of Television Programs and very much enjoyed their 5 o'clock (3:30p) Wine-thirty.

Nancy was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 3 Brothers, a Brother-in-law, a Sister-in-law, a Son-in-law, a Daughter-in-law, and a Grandchild. 

She is survived by her Sister and 2 Brothers, Jim Simmonds (Shirley) and Ray Simmonds; her Children, Mark Short, Randy Short (Karen), Tami Smith, Terry Short (Dana), Jen Mitchell, & Don Short (Colleen); 16 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
