Nancy Colwell

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Carlene Colwell. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and cherished by her family and friends.  Nancy was proceeded in death by her parents Carl and Opal Rath and daughter Suzanne Hansen.  She is survived by her husband Roy Colwell, brothers, daughters,  grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and extended family. 

Nancy was born and lived most of her life in Rushville, Nebraska.  She worked for Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and was dedicated to helping people find the help and resources they needed.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and community member.  Nancy was also a talented artist who expressed herself through paintings, drawings, music, and craft design.  She also had a deep passion for helping and loving animals, especially her beloved pets Mork and Missy. 

As Nancy’s health quickly declined, our family is eternally grateful for the live and care she received by those at Hillcrest Silver Ridge in Gretna, Nebraska.  Despite exacerbating health conditions and adversities, Nancy kept a good sense of humor and loved to joke with her family and caregivers.  She will be greatly missed by many. 

In honor of Nancy’s legacy, we remember a woman of dedication, integrity, and enduring love for her family.   Memorial services will be held Friday, December 29th at Hillcrest Silver Ridge at 4:00 p.m.
