Monte Charles Bratberg passed away March 27, 2024 at age of 73.  

Monte was born April 19, 1950 in Vermillion S.D. to parents Merle and Wilma Bratberg.  Survived by wife Kathi, Daughters Brandi Curnyn (John), Abby Mazzuca (Greg). Granddaughters Sophia, Samantha, Gabriella and Genevieve, Sister Holly Gilsdorf (Cliff) and Brother Shad Bratberg (Tammy) and nieces and nephews. Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend to so many and true light in the world. His family was his most precious gift and our lives were filled with laughter, stories, his boundless energy and adventure and his cars as the years passed.  Family dinners and Christmas Eve celebrations were a time filled with so much happiness and laughter.  He was always the first one to step up to help anytime and anywhere it was needed. He loved building and remodeling and helping people. 

Monte retired from the US post office as a letter carrier. He is also retired from the Air Force Reserves. He shined his light, his humor and his hard -working spirit wherever he went.   He always had a story or a joke and he lit up a room when he walked in. He loved people and their stories.  He was always interested in history and loved to talk to the vets at the VA where he volunteered for 1800 hours over his 10 years there.

He loved our Friday night dinner dates, movies,  his cars and car shows. He has left a legacy of love, energy, laughter, caring and service for so many.  Rest in peace Monte, you will never be forgotten.   

Visitation 5-7p.m. Friday (4/5/2024) at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th St. Omaha. 

Funeral Service 11a.m. Saturday (4/6/2024) at Unity Church, 3424 N 90th St   Omaha.
