Michelle R. Griffith

Born November 26, 1960, in Floydada, Texas, Michelle Griffith passed away peacefully at her home in Gretna, Nebraska, on March 4, 2026, with her husband by her side.

She was preceded in death by Courtney Lang, Ray Cook, Lisa Lang, Jean Skinner, and Jennifer Griffith. She is survived by her husband, Jeffery; her daughter Julie Griffith and her children, Drew and Dane Farrell; and her daughter Ashley (Ryan) Blauw and their children, John and William.

Michelle was a free spirit with both feet firmly on the ground — creative to her core, Michelle could imagine something beautiful and then bring it to life.

While working at Griffith Drapery and Decorating, she fell in love with the owner’s son. They eloped in North Carolina and spent the decades that followed building a life full of devotion, adventure, and family. Their story carried them across Europe, down the treacherous waters of the Dismal River with friends, and through years of family vacations and carefully crafted celebrations.

Michelle endured more than her share of hardship, yet she remained a resilient matriarch — steady, generous, and unwavering. It was this quiet strength that guided the way she raised her daughters, instilling in them the independence and courage she carried so naturally.

Long after their years owning and running the Weil House Bed and Breakfast, Michelle remained a gracious and welcoming hostess. She transformed their home on the water into what was lovingly referred to as The Griffith Bistro, always cooking, baking, and making it all look effortless. Her kitchen was forever alive with movement and warmth, filled with dancing, good food, and the kind of laughter that pulled people closer.

Michelle created a life that touched everyone who stepped through her door. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored.
