Gretna - Michael (Mike) John Bland was born on July 12, 1961, in Norfolk, NE. He is the son of Gary Bland and Cherill Samson. Mike graduated from Millard High School in 1979. He then went on to electronics school and graduated with an Associate degree in Electronics from Gateway Electronics Institute, Omaha, NE. He married Brenda Danenhauer on November 26, 1983. Their first daughter Kristina (Tina) was born in May of 1985. Mike then started his career in Electronics IT, moving with Brenda and Tina to Lincoln. After 19 years in Banking technology, Mike went into Healthcare for 15 years. He enjoyed helping others and everyone knew him for being friendly and knowledgeable. While living in Lincoln, Mike and Brenda had a daughter, Michaela (Kala) and son, Jonathan (John). He loved helping others with their computers and would often build them for his family. Mike always had a love for animals including his own dogs, cat, and his grand-dogs. He and Brenda moved to Gretna to be closer to their grandchildren in August 2018.
Mike is survived by his wife of 40 years: Brenda and three children; daughter: Tina (Steve) Siebrandt of Sarasota, FL; daughter: Kala Bland and Riley Brown of Omaha; son: John (Sierra) Bland of Omaha; grandchildren: Grace, Asa, Savanah, Noah Siebrandt and Liam Bland.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents: Gary Bland and Cherill Samson.
Visitation: Tuesday 9-11 AM with Service 11 AM Tuesday (4/2/2024) at Gretna United Methodist Church 11457 S 204th St Gretna, NE.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Nebraska Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
