Omaha - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Lawler, who left us peacefully on May 16, 2024 at the age of 77. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose life was a testament to love, dedication, and service.
Mary dedicated her life to her family and her community. For decades, she was a cherished teacher at St. James/Seton P.R.E. classes, where she touched the lives of countless students with her wisdom, patience, and unwavering commitment to their education and spiritual growth.
Her home was a haven of warmth and joy, filled with the mouthwatering aromas of her cooking. Mary found immense joy in preparing meals for her family, creating countless memories around the dinner table.
An avid and talented crocheter, she spent many hours crafting beautiful blankets, each stitch made with love and care. These blankets, gifted to family and friends, are now treasured keepsakes, symbolizing the warmth and comfort she provided to all who knew her.
Mary was known for her competitive spirit, whether it was in friendly games with family or in various pursuits throughout her life. This competitive nature was a reflection of her determination and passion, driving her to excel in all she did. She served with dedication and bravery as an EMT for the Millard Volunteer Fire Department. Her selfless service and commitment to helping others in times of need exemplified her compassionate heart and strong sense of duty.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us. Rest in peace, Mary. Your love and light will forever remain in our hearts.
Survived by husband Howard, children Howard Jr. (Amy), Trish (Linda), Jean (Ian) Connerley, Carol (Sheri) Lawler, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister Donna Hubbard, family and friends.
