Mary Belle Thompson

Mary Belle Thompson was born Mary Belle Patterson the youngest of 13 to Mr and Mrs Ervin Patterson Sr. on December 15, 1928 in Pineapple, Alabama.

On Thursday, January 12, 2017 Mary made her transition to her eternal home. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Francyne Vanessa Hurry and her son Elston Gene McCarthur.

Growing up as a child Mary was baptized at First Baptist Church in Pineapple, Alabama where she was a faithful member. Mary, graduated from high school and later taught proofreading at the local grade school, and later attended college.

Mary was married to her devoted husband, Bill Thompson. Mary attended Pilgrim Baptist church, and later in her life she attended Mount Mariah, then Salem Baptist Church with her loving husband Bill.

Mary was a family oriented women, she believed in keeping her family close with family gatherings every holiday, family travels, as well as family events. Mary often traveled to Birmingham, Alabama and Pensicola Florida to visit her siblings , as well as her niece Mildred White and other nieces and nephews.

In Mary's early years she enjoyed fashion, as well as spending time in her yard planting flowers. In her later years she spent her time with her beloved husband, her children, her many grandchildren, as well as her family members in Alabama and Florida.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories, Husband, William Thompson, children,Tyrone Patterson, John Ellis McCarthur, Pamela, McCarthur,  Betty McCarthur and Ellis McCarthur. Her beautiful  grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as her beloved niece, Mildred White, other nieces and nephews in Alabama and Pensicola, Florida, as well as her beloved friends.

Mary was greatly loved and will truly be missed.

Funeral Service 11:00AM Friday January 20, 2017 at Roeder Mortuary - 4932 Ames Ave. Visitation will be Thursday January 19, 2017 6:00PM-7:30PM also at Mortuary.
