Charles H. and Mary Ann Petrmichl

Together in Life and in Heaven

Charles H. and Mary Ann Petrmichl passed away just days apart in September 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, music, and family.

Their story began as pen pals while Charlie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. When he returned home, they married and built a beautiful life together.

Charlie was a talented accordion player and proud inductee of the Sokol Omaha Polka Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed training Springer Spaniels for field trials and sharing his love of the outdoors.

Mary Ann retired from Kellogg’s and devoted her life to her family—her greatest joy. She was known for her warm smile and her saying, “Live life with a smile on your face and a polka beat in your heart.”

Survived by: sons James (Jesse), Ken (Donna), Chuck (Penny); grandchildren Jeremy (Ashley) Gundersen, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Snyder, Kristin (Cody) Burt, Grant (Madison) Petrmichl, Benjamin Petrmichl, and Charles Petrmichl; great-grandchildren Hattie and Bennett Burt, and Scarlett and Navy Gundersen.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 1, from 4–8 p.m. at the home of Chuck and Penny Petrmichl.

Memorials: Springfield Fire and Rescue and Josie Harper Hospice House.
