Mark A. Haffke

Elkhorn - Mark Haffke, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful Jehovah’s Witness, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. His life was filled with love, hard work, and a deep commitment to his family and his faith.

Mark is preceded in death, by his father, Julius and his mother, Gloria. Mark is survived by his beloved wife and high‑school sweetheart, Laura. Together, they built a wonderful life with their two sons: Josh Haffke and his wife Kristi, and Ben Haffke and his wife Alyssa. He was a proud grandfather to Harrison and Adelaide, who brought him immeasurable joy and Mike Haffke, his brother. He is also remembered with affection by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were brightened by his kindness, humor, and generosity.

Mark cherished the simple, meaningful routines of life—whether it was the mornings he spent with his dad, sharing coffee and good‑natured arguments or planning and canceling vacation with Laura. He loved taking his family on adventures, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. A remarkably hard worker, Mark built countless homes throughout Omaha and the surrounding areas alongside his dad, sons, and cousins. The homes he helped create stand as a testament to his craftsmanship, dedication, and pride in providing for others.

His family takes comfort in the hope shared at Revelation 21:4, which promises: “And (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” This assurance of a future free from suffering brings peace to those who loved him.

Honoring Mark’s wishes, his family will not be holding a traditional funeral. A private service will be held at a later date.
