Marilyn A. Mattox, 85, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025.
Born on January 1, 1940, in Avoca, Nebraska where she enjoyed farm life with three sisters and one brother. On September 7, 1962, she married Dale S. Mattox. Together they raised two sons, Brian and Brett, and later made their home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where Dale worked for Phillips Petroleum.
After many years in Oklahoma, Marilyn and Dale returned to their Nebraska roots in retirement. Following Dale’s passing, Marilyn moved in with her son Brian, daughter-in-law Deena, and grandchildren Leah, Dylan, and Devin.
Marilyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of puzzles and game shows, and her weekly lunch outings with her sister-in-law, Sue Bose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Lois and Nancy, two brothers-in-law Ken and Larry, her husband Dale, and her son Brett.
Marilyn’s memory lives on in her son Brian and family, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with warmth and grace.
A family service will be held at Roeder Mortuary on Sunday, October 26 at 10 AM to celebrate her life with an internment at Tecumseh Cemetery at a later date.
