Marianne M. Dirksen

Omaha - Marianne Marga Dirksen (Schulz) was born on August 22nd 1940 to Helmut and Annette Schulz (Manko) in Schwiebus, Germany. She was passionate about photography, painting, art, the outdoors, socializing and spending time with her family and friends. She was especially fond of her grandchildren. 

Her kindness and generosity were felt by both those close to her and one-time acquaintances. As an avid animal-lover, she enjoyed feeding wildlife and owning many beloved pets throughout her life. Constantly redecorating & renovating her living space was a passion of hers, often resulting in many funny and mischievous stories. Marianne had a deep love for her grandchildren, as she cherished baking with them, nurturing them, and spending precious time with them. And of course, she would never turn down a beer or a smoke in an effort to always have a good time. Marianne will always be remembered for her caring and compassionate nature, her generosity, strong-will and love, especially for her grandchildren. 

Marianne passed away on January 11th, 2026 at the age of 85 in Omaha, Nebraska. She is survived by her grandchildren Nathan and Mikaela Conley, André Dirksen, and her daughters Becky (Mark) Dirksen Brunholzl and Michelle (Troy) Conley, Kenneth Dirksen, nieces and other relatives in Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents Helmet and Annette Schulz, and by her brother HeinzGunter (Else) Schulz.

 A memorial service will be held at Roeder Mortuary 2727 North 108th Street Omaha, NE 68164 on January 19th, 2026 at 2 PM followed by burial at Flower Hill Cemetery in Omaha, NE 68116.
