Lynne Elaine King, 83, died peacefully June 1st, 2022, in her bedroom at Parsons House memory care cottage.

Lynne was born on July 11, 1938 in Fort Calhoun to Oral and Hartha Ingaborg Harrison. Lynne grew up and graduated in Fort Calhoun, playing in the marching band, and playing all the sports offered. She met and married Donald Howard King in 1961 and they had their three boys, Mark, Chris, and Matthew. She and Don loved attending each of the boys’ sports and musical activities as they grew. She also loved to play sports and was an avid spectator throughout her life. She had many close friends from her Northwest Hills bridge groups and from singing in various Omaha church choirs. She worked at a number of companies including personnel at Mutual of Omaha, assistant director at Remington Heights, Little King, Bergan Mercy Hospital and spent the last chapter of her career at Maplewood Methodist preschool doing what she loved best; doting on children. And they certainly loved her right back.

She almost always had a Coke in hand, some Dove chocolate nearby, and, being of proud Swedish heritage, dessert was always the most important part of the meal.

Lynne is survived by sons: Mark King and Matthew King ; daughter-in-law: Sussy King; grandchildren: Kristen Sandoval , CJ, Grace and Callie King, Eloise, Sutton and Halsten King; great-grandchildren: Ethan and Harrison Sandoval; and niece: Carol Kirkpatrick .

She is preceded in death by her parents: Oral and Hartha Harrison; husband: Donald King; son: Christopher King; brother: O.F. “Bud” Harrison Jr.

Donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
