Lorraine P Norman

Lorraine Phyllis Norman, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home on September 13, 2024. She was born on August 14, 1933, in Avoca, Iowa to Irvin Carl and Orleane (Blakely) Hundt. Lorraine was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oakland, Iowa. She attended school in Shelby, Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Norman. They were married on January 29, 1955, embarking on a loving partnership that blessed them with five children: Steve, Pam, Scott, Shelly, and Lisa.

Lorraine's life was a testament to the power of family bonds and the joy found in simple moments. Her warm presence and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Lorraine is survived by her children: Steve (Terri) Norman, Pam Nothwehr (Dan), Scott (Cyndi) Norman, Shelly Terry, and Lisa (Todd) Mueller. Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren, Erin (Brandon) Glime; Shawna (Doug) Thomsen; Brenden (Kim) Nothwehr; Tera (Steve) Petragash; Micaela (Spencer) Goff; Amanda Norman; Sara Norman; Kelton Terry; Justin Norman; Bret Nothwehr; Cade Mueller; and Sydney Mueller; and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; her parents, Irvin and Orleane Hundt; her stepmother, Ella Hundt; father-in-law, Harold Norman; mother-in-law, Opal Norman; brother, Bob Hundt; brother-in-law, Varel Holaday; sister-in-law, Doris Norman; son-in-law, Robert "Allen" Terry; and great-grandson, Evan Nothwehr.
