Lindsay Kay (Alfaro) Stoehr

Lindsay Kay (Alfaro) Stoehr passed away on May 13, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 38 after going into cardiac arrest from respiratory failure. Lindsay left behind her 2 children, husband, family, friends, and a life that ended far too soon.

Lindsay was born on March 26, 1988, in Omaha Nebraska. She grew up in the Papillion, Nebraska area and attended Papillion schools and graduated from Papillion Lavista High School in 2006 with honors. From there she earned her veterinarian tech license and graduated from Vatterott College in 2010 . Lindsay found her niche in a world of helping animals.

In 2009 she met Eric Stoehr and they were married 4 years later on December 28, 2013. Her two children arrived shortly after that and only 11 months apart. Kymber was born on Nov 13, 2014 and Connor on October 27, 2015. With the addition of her children, Lindsay's life was now centered on her family.

She was a mother first and foremost. She was not supposed to be able to have children due to PCOS. So that surprise 2 times over was a gift that she did not take for granted. She was a mother first in the ways that mattered–worrying constantly, making sure everyone had what they needed and protecting them fiercely. Her kids were the center of her life, and much of who she was can be found in the memories and love she built with them over the years.

Her husband, Eric, shared much of her life alongside her- raising their children, building homes and family together. They stood together through ordinary days and difficult times. Their life was filled with happiness and hard- ups and downs- and was fully theirs.

Lindsay had a smile that could light up the room. She loved animals and all things 4 legged. She did not try to be extraordinary- she didn’t need to be. The people who knew Lindsay will remember the sound of her laugh, the things she would say, the comfort of her presence and the countless ordinary moments that now feel impossibly important.

Lindsay was a registered organ donor by choice — a deliberate act of compassion that reflected who she was. Though complications prevented her donation, her selflessness brought comfort in the darkest of moments. This act can affect so many-in fact one of the transplant nurses noted that one donation can help up to 100 humans.

Lindsay is preceded in death by her grandmother Phyllis Kay Randall. She is survived by husband, Eric Stoehr; children: Kymber and Connor Stoehr; mother: Julie (Alan) Torell, brothers: Nick (Sara) Alfaro, Ryan Alfaro, Grandfather Bill (Maureen) Davis

And many uncles, aunts, cousins, family members and friends and loved ones who will miss her terribly.
